Animal Friends for Education and Welfare
Animal Friends for Education and Welfare
A.F.E.W. is not a shelter, but rather a network of foster homes that provide housing and socialization of our "customers", the animals, until we can find them a home.

A.F.E.W. also works to raise public awareness of animal issues. We promote public education in fostering respect, understanding and care for all animals, as well as special emphasis on spaying and neutering to help stop pet overpopulation.

Animal Rescue League of Boston
Animal Rescue League of Boston
The Animal Rescue League is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing domesticated animals and wildlife from suffering, cruelty, abandonment, and neglect. Since 1899 we have advocated the philosophy of our founder, Anna Harris Smith, that "Kindness Uplifts the World".

Your tax-deductible gift to the Animal Rescue League of Boston will help to ensure that animals in distress receive the care they need, as well as a chance to be adopted into a caring home. In 2010, we must raise more than $2 million from generous donors like you in order to meet our annual operating budget needs.

Companion Critters
Companion Critters
Companion Critters, Inc., is a 501(c)(3), all volunteer, non-profit New Jersey corporation, founded on September 17, 2000 to help save animals on death row in shelters and pounds.

To date, hundreds of homeless pets have been saved. All animals are put into foster homes where their behavior, likes and dislikes are evaluated. This provides you with important information which will better help match a pet to your lifestyle.

All pets adopted from Companion Critters will be spayed or neutered before they are released to new homes. In addition to our rescue efforts, we actively promote and provide low cost spaying and neutering services for both owned and feral animals. Our goal is to be part of the solution of pet overpopulation.

Fix Our Ferals
Fix Our Ferals
Fix Our Ferals (FOF) is a community-based, non-profit organization that promotes trap-neuter and return (T-N-R) to humanely reduce outdoor cat populations in the San Francisco East Bay. Founded in 1998, FOF clinics have fixed over 11,000 cats, making a better life for the outdoor cats in our neighborhoods and the people that live with them.
Our mission is to help both people and cats in the San Francisco East Bay by:
  • Providing free sterilizations, vaccinations and other tools to help people implement T-N-R in their neighborhoods
  • Educating community members, leaders, and decision-makers about T-N-R as the only humane and effective long-term solution to neighborhood cat issues
  • Ending the unnecessary killing of cats in shelters by advocating T-N-R as the superior method of population control

Over our 10-year history, FOF has opened the minds and hearts of East Bay residents to the plight of feral cats, while providing the means to ease their suffering. At our free high-volume spay-neuter clinics, staffed entirely by volunteers, we sterilize up to 210 cats in one day. These clinics unite caretakers, rescue workers, vet students, and licensed veterinarians in a common goal. The hundreds of healthy, non-breeding colonies that have resulted are a testament to the success of Fix Our Ferals and of T-N-R.

Homeless Animals Rescue Team
Homeless Animals Rescue Team
HART is a no-kill animal rescue/support group, incorporated in 1990, that takes in and rehomes stray, abused and unwanted dogs and cats. Whether the animal is a give-up or a stray, HART works with local veterinarians, trainers, foster homes, and kennels to provide temporary care for the pet until s/he is placed in a loving, carefully-screened forever home.

Do you have a vehicle you would like to dispose of--quickly, easily, without the headaches of finding a buyer and dealing with possible post-sale liability? You can do so and save innocent lives and gain a valuable tax deduction.* Simply donate your vehicle to HART. Every cent HART receives from your donation will go towards helping homeless animals find permanent, loving homes. Thank you so much for your support!

Inland Valley Humane Society
Inland Valley Humane Society
The doors to the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. are open to every animal in need. Because we are a "full access" shelter, no animal is ever turned away. Many other shelters, animal care facilities and sanctuaries define themselves as "no-kill" shelters. And while we at the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. salute the work of animal welfare groups everywhere, we find the label of "no-kill" to be inaccurate. Organizations like these are better defined as "limited access" shelters because they have the option of turning away animals for health, behavior and in some instances cosmetic reasons. We work vigorously to find new, loving and permanent homes for every healthy pet, and we do a great job at it. Because we are a full-access shelter and never deny any animal entry, there is no set time limit for how long an animal will be available for adoption. As long as the animal is healthy, maintains a good disposition and we have space, we'll keep a pet for an indefinite period.

Do you have a car that you don't use anymore? Consider donating it to the Inland Valley Humane Society. You will get a tax write off for the fair market value of the car and we will get a donation as well. It's a win-win situation. We have contracted with a vehicle donation program to process vehicle donations for us. This is how it works: you call us to donate your vehicle and an appointment will be scheduled to pick it up. Upon pick-up, you will get a receipt for your donation. (Please check with your tax advisor to see how this tax deduction may benefit you). Your vehicle is then entered into a vehicle auction. Part of the proceeds from the auction are sent back to the organization you had requested receive the donation.
