Homeless Animals Rescue Team
HART is a no-kill animal rescue/support group, incorporated in 1990, that takes in and rehomes stray, abused and unwanted dogs and cats. Whether the animal is a give-up or a stray, HART works with local veterinarians, trainers, foster homes, and kennels to provide temporary care for the pet until s/he is placed in a loving, carefully-screened forever home.
Do you have a vehicle you would like to dispose of--quickly, easily, without the headaches of finding a buyer and dealing with possible post-sale liability? You can do so and save innocent lives and gain a valuable tax deduction.* Simply donate your vehicle to HART. Every cent HART receives from your donation will go towards helping homeless animals find permanent, loving homes. Thank you so much for your support!
Heritage Humane Society
Heritage Humane Society serves as a compassionate haven for stray or unwanted companion animals, educates the public about humane care and treatment, advocates animal welfare, and promotes adoption to measurably reduce overpopulation and pet homelessness.
The Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation
The Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation (LDCRF) rescues abandoned or displaced dogs and cats from the threat of euthanasia in over-crowded shelters or other at-risk situations and places them for adoption into loving homes. All animals in the care of LDCRF are spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated prior to adoption and any special medical needs are addressed.
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Northern Virginia
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Northern Virginia (SPCA NOVA) is a volunteer-based, non-profit, private organization. We were established by local citizens to rescue domestic cats and dogs from cruelty, neglect and abandonment. We rescue hundreds of cats and dogs each year. SPCA NOVA is a “no-kill” organization that does not euthanize healthy, adoptable cats and dogs. We don’t have a traditional shelter. Our cats live in foster homes and our dogs live either in foster homes or a private kennel until adopted.
Do you have a vehicle that you no longer want or need? Would you like to dispose of that vehicle, gain a tax deduction, and benefit the SPCA at the same time? Donate it! It's easy, and your unwanted car can help us save animals' lives.
Virginia German Shepherd Rescue
Virginia German Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer
organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of the German Shepherd
Dog. We provide a safe haven for German Shepherds (and, sometimes, other breeds/mixes)
who are left in shelters to await uncertain fate; are owner surrenders (moving, illness, divorce,
death, etc.); or are victims of abuse or neglect. We adopt dogs to loving, responsible and
secure homes, typically, in Virginia and the Metropolitan Washington, D.C., area. In the
eight plus years that we have been in existence, we have found homes for over 2,600
deserving dogs, 247 in 2009 alone. We receive our funding from private donations and
Are you (or do you know of someone) thinking of selling or trading in that old car, boat, motorcycle or RV? Why not donate it and save the hassle? VGSR can take vehicles as donations. VGSR can really use the donation and we will provide you with a tax-deductible donation receipt.
Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America
The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. It was founded in 1967 by Irwin M. and Suzanne Rosenthal, William D. and Shelby Modell, and Henry D. Janowitz, M.D.
Four decades ago, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation created the field of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis research. Today, the Foundation funds cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurtures investigators at the early stages of their careers, and finances underdeveloped areas of research. Educational workshops and symposia, together with our scientific journal, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, enable medical professionals to keep pace with this rapidly growing field. No wonder the National Institutes of Health has commended the Foundation for "uniting the research community and strengthening IBD research."
If you're thinking of selling or trading in your old car, boat, or RV, why not donate it instead? Donation is easy -- and tax-deductible, too
