Charities that benefit children
This section contains a list of charities you can donate cars to who will use that donation to help children. Since kids don't drive cars generally the vehicles are sold and the proceeds used to help fund the charity.

Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America
The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. It was founded in 1967 by Irwin M. and Suzanne Rosenthal, William D. and Shelby Modell, and Henry D. Janowitz, M.D.
Four decades ago, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation created the field of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis research. Today, the Foundation funds cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurtures investigators at the early stages of their careers, and finances underdeveloped areas of research. Educational workshops and symposia, together with our scientific journal, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, enable medical professionals to keep pace with this rapidly growing field. No wonder the National Institutes of Health has commended the Foundation for "uniting the research community and strengthening IBD research."
If you're thinking of selling or trading in your old car, boat, or RV, why not donate it instead? Donation is easy -- and tax-deductible, too
Cure Search, National Childhood Cancer Foundation
CureSearch for Children's Cancer is dedicated to raising private funds for childhood cancer research for the Children's Oncology Group, the world's largest cooperative cancer research organization. Together, we are committed to conquering childhood cancer through scientific discovery and compassionate care.
CureSearch Children's Oncology Group is a network of more than 5,000 physicians, nurses, and scientists whose collaboration, research and care have turned childhood cancer from a virtually incurable disease to one with an overall 78% cure rate.
Donate your used car, truck, RV, trailer, or boat to CureSearch and it will be picked up free of charge! It's easy, convenient, and you'll be eligible for a tax deduction as well. Almost all vehicles are accepted. Donating a vehicle is much easier than selling it yourself. Best of all, your donation will support CureSearch’s work to cure childhood cancer.

Friends of Children with Special Needs
Friends of Children with Special Needs is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support, friendship, and life skills training to developmentally disabled individuals and their families. FCSN started out in 1996 with 10 families, and has now membership of 800 mostly Asian American families, serving over 600 individuals with autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental disabilities. In response to the needs of the growing special needs population, FCSN opened its Headquarter in Fremont in September 2006 and a Center in West San Jose/Cupertino in April 2008. We have over 35 programs in the Bay Area serving children and adults with special needs.
FCSN has established a vehicle donation program with an outside corporation to accept charity car, boat or RV.
For tax purposes, the car donor can claim tax deduction from either the sale price of the donated vehicle or $500, whichever is larger, in their income tax return. For example, in the 28% tax bracket, a sale price of $4800 will give you a tax credit of $1344. Therefore, your donation is equivalent to selling your car at a value of $1344 and at the same time, FCSN will benefit from your donation. Amount of tax deduction will differ for each donor. Please check with you tax advisor to see how this tax deduction can benefit you.
Home for Little Wanderers
The Home for Little Wanderers is a nationally renowned, private, non-profit child and family service agency. It has been part of the Massachusetts landscape for over 200 years, making it the oldest agency of its kind in the nation and one of the largest in New England. Originally founded as a orphanage in 1799 (see history for more details), The Home today plays a leadership role in delivering services to thousands of children and families each year through a system of residential, community-based and prevention programs, direct care services, and advocacy.
Make a difference in the lives of at-risk children by donating your used vehicle. The Home for Little Wanderers is looking for donations of unwanted, intact automobiles that will be sold at auction to benefit the children and families we serve. It's easy to do, towing is included and you'll get a tax deduction.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we’ve evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the U.S. every 40 minutes. A network of nearly 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.
