Volunteers of America is proud to be one the area’s largest providers of human services. Our mission to reach and uplift all people first began in our community in 1911. Over the years, the agency has expanded in response to the needs of families with children, the elderly, the h omeless, the mentally ill, and people with alcohol and other drug problems. Services in Greater Sacramento and Northern Nevada include shelter and comfort, counseling, independent living and parenting skills, substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation, job training and much more.

We currently operate over 30 programs in Greater Sacramento and Northern Nevada and have 217 employees and 1000 volunteers.

We will accept cars, trucks, RV's, boats, and other property in and around Sacramento.

Volunteers of America Bay Area
Volunteers of America Bay Area
For the past 20 years, Volunteers of America Bay Area has been reaching out to those less fortunate in our community by providing Holiday Food Baskets through the Operation Good Neighbor program. This year we hope to feed 2,000 families a complete Thanksgiving dinner. All recipients of the food baskets are referred to us from 65 various social service agencies, senior homes and community based organizations throughout the Bay Area.

Volunteers of America Bay Area operates a fund raising program, which seeks donations of cars, trucks, RV's, boats and other property from throughout the Bay Area. This program supplements the funding needed to further our mission of helping children and families in need.

The Arc of Northern Virginia
The Arc of Northern Virginia
From The Arc's roots as a group of concerned parents 50 years ago, we have spawned a national movement that has led to services where there were none, legal protections recognizing our human rights, and feelings of pride and dignity instead of shame. Clearly, our struggle is ongoing, but we have come a long way. The Arc of Northern Virginia, an affiliate of the national organization, The Arc, was founded in May of 1962.

If you are interested in donating a car simply call The Arc at 703-532-3214 and we will arrange pick-up of your car and you will get a receipt when it is sold.

Nationwide, as many as 54 million Americans have a disability. Maybe your neighbor has an injury resulting from a motor vehicle accident, or your coworker has a child with cerebral palsy. Your grandmother may be recovering from stroke -- or maybe you are one of every five Americans with a disability. Look around you, and you'll find people of all abilities who are vital participants in their communities despite the barriers they may encounter. The barriers, physical or otherwise, people with disabilities face begin with people's attitudes -- attitudes often rooted in misinformation and misunderstanding. Easter Seals provides answers to help everyone create solutions that change lives... maybe even their own.
